NUBA
Nuba is a nomadic stool that provides comfort and portability while reflecting Egyptian culture. It aims to enhance the experience of visiting the Nile Corniche in Cairo, Egypt. My targeted user was inspired by the crowds of people I see by the Nile corniche when I go back to Cairo every summer. It is one of the most popular outdoor spots for people to gather; however, there are no public seatings which results in people standing for hours or sitting on the fence. Sitting by the Nile is a traditional Egyptian activity, and so I aimed for my design to capture Egyptian tradition. This was achieved through taking inspiration through from the Nubian villages located in the South of Egypt where the locals are known to stay close to their traditions.
